Computing

Computers are now part of everyday life. For most of us, technology is essential to our lives, at home and at work. The computing curriculum has been developed to equip pupils with the skills they need to use technology confidently and safely in all relevant aspects of their life. It is made up of three core strands: digital literacy, computer science and information technology. In addition to weekly computing lessons, pupils at Thomas's Kensington develop their use of technology across the curriculum, applying their skills on a range of devices to support and enhance their learning.

The education of pupils in online safety is an essential part of the school’s safeguarding provision. Children and young people need help and support to recognise and avoid online safety risks and build their resilience. Carefully planned, age appropriate lessons are taught from Reception to Year 6 in computing and PSHCE classes.
