Thomas’s provides a forward-thinking, outward-looking education, based on a strong set of values, for boys and girls in central London aged two to sixteen years old. We offer a world-class, relevant, four-dimensional curriculum with possible exit points at 11, 13 and 16.
Our children quickly settle into the routines and expectations of school where the atmosphere is happy and stimulating and the children feel safe, confident and eager to learn. They develop essential skills: reading, writing and numeracy and the habits of a growth mindset.
Our pupils spend these years exploring the world of learning. They grow in independence, self-esteem and confidence in a secure and encouraging environment. They learn key skills and acquire knowledge and understanding with an Enquiry Mindset to ensure that firm foundations are laid for the future.
In Year 6 there is an emphasis on creative yet critical thinking, problem-solving and developing independent learning skills, all approached with an enquiry mindset. Some pupils leave at the end of the year for 11+ London day schools and boarding schools but many opt to continue their educational journey at Thomas’s.
Our pupils continue to build their skills and knowledge and look forward to a seamless transition into the senior years at Thomas’s Battersea Senior School or admission to 13+ day and boarding schools. They continue to embrace the artistic, dramatic, musical and sporting opportunities available in school.
Preparing to navigate with confidence and success their first national examinations, our students are at the same time encouraged to study a broad and creative curriculum, with a continuing focus on the core competencies of collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking.
Our students continue their learning journeys as we place them into outstanding sixth-forms, before they enter the world of further education and work as confident, capable and compassionate contributors to society.
