Geography

‘Geography is the subject which holds the key to our future.’ Michael Palin

At Thomas’s Kensington we believe that the study of Geography can help to equip our pupils to be successful world citizens in a rapidly changing environment. Geography encourages children to investigate the world around them and stimulates a sense of wonder about differing places and their inhabitants. It allows young people to begin questioning and investigating how varying landscapes are formed, how people and their environments interact as well as how a diverse range of economies, societies and environments are interconnected. Geography builds on pupils’ own experiences to investigate places at all scales, from the personal to the global and allows them to begin to make sense of a complex and dynamically changing world.
