Please note the changes to our Admissions Policy for pupils registering for September 2023 onward (so babies born from 1st September 2018). For these children, registration will no longer open at birth, but rather on 1st September three years before entry, when children are aged between one and two years old. An explanation of this procedure is available on the Admissions tab of this website. Please contact the Registrar for further details.
Our Registrar, Cathy Carter, would be delighted to talk you through our admissions process in person. Here is the basic information you need to know:
The majority of pupils are admitted into three Reception classes in the September following their fourth birthday. At the time of writing this year group comprises 60 pupils. Entry to other year groups at Thomas’s Kensington is dependent on places becoming available during the course of the academic year. Classes normally comprise up to 22 pupils.
Our aim is to admit to the school a balance of boys and girls regardless of race, religious views or physical ability.
We operate a selective entry procedure and give priority to siblings of current pupils. Our entrance assessments seek to ensure that the pupils selected will enjoy and benefit from the broad curriculum on offer.
All children must be registered with the school before being considered for a place. As places are oversubscribed we also recommend that children are registered with a number of other schools.
There is no automatic entry from Thomas’s Kindergarten to Reception at Thomas’s Kensington. If you wish to register your child at Thomas's Kindergarten as well as the main school please contact the Kindergarten directly. More information about the Kindergarten may be found here.
Cathy Carter may be contacted on Tel: 020 7361 6520 and email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that a child may be registered at only one of the Thomas's Schools.
