Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Personal, social and emotional development involves helping children to develop a positive sense of themselves and others and to form positive relationships. Our care of children in Reception promotes good relationships between children, teachers and parents. Children in Reception develop respect for others; they develop social skills and learn how to manage their feelings; to understand appropriate behaviour in groups; and to have confidence in their own abilities.
Inspiring Living lessons and weekly circle time take place, as well as discussing topics the children raise at the time or current classroom issues.
“I have made so many new friends at school. We play together at playtimes and I hold my friend’s hand when she falls over and gets sad.”
