Thomas's Battersea Admissions
Nicola Diggle, the Director of Admissions, is responsible for all registrations and would be delighted to talk you through our admissions process in person. She may be contacted on Tel: 020 7978 0621 and by email.
As an introduction, here is the basic information you need to know:
The majority of pupils are admitted into three Reception classes in the September following their fourth birthday. At the time of writing this year group comprises 63 pupils. Entry to other year groups at Thomas’s Battersea is dependent on places becoming available during the course of the academic year. Classes normally comprise up to 22 pupils.
Our aim is to admit to the school a balance of boys and girls regardless of race, religious views or physical ability.
Only children between the ages of one and two years old may be registered for entry into Reception. This approach is intended to enable parents to have and enjoy their babies, to start to visit schools during their child’s first year of life, and to make an informed decision about the schools at which they would like to register, without feeling the pressure to register their baby as soon as they are born.
We operate a selective entry procedure and give priority to siblings of current pupils. Our entrance assessments seek to ensure that the pupils selected will enjoy and benefit from the broad curriculum on offer.
All children must be registered with the school before being considered for a place. As places are oversubscribed we also recommend that children are registered with a number of other schools.
There is no automatic entry from Thomas’s Kindergarten to Reception at Thomas’s Battersea. If you wish to register your child at Thomas's Kindergarten as well as the main school please contact the Kindergarten directly. More information about the Kindergarten may be found here.
Please note that a child may be registered at only one of the Thomas's schools.
