Healthy Eating At School
Implementing a healthy and nutritionally balanced meal is a challenging and rewarding experience for the whole of the catering team. We are all involved in designing new concepts which would appeal to the children across the schools. With enthusiasm and imagination, the chefs at Thomas’s tackle the difficult subject of how to improve the children’s nutritional intake at lunchtime and the results are evident in the menu cycles that we produce.
I believe a varied and balanced diet is an important way of protecting health, and promoting proper growth and development. It can help children to improve their concentration and fulfil their potential both inside and outside of school.
Each term the catering team develop a range of ideas and dishes with an emphasis on healthy cooking, full flavour and presentation that hopefully persuades pupils to eat and more importantly, enjoy a balanced diet whilst at school.
