Children
are taught from the age of two and a half up to senior school
entry at the age of eleven or thirteen. After kindergarten,
children join their preparatory schools at the age of four and
are expected to remain with us until at least the age of eleven

Progression through the preparatory schools is automatic,
with no qualifying examinations.

Admissions
The majority of children are admitted at the age of two and
a half to the Kindergartens and at either four or five to the
Lower Schools. There is also entry to the Preparatory schools
at other ages.
All children must be registered
with the school before being considered for a place. Children
can only be registered at one of the Thomas's schools. As
places are oversubscribed we recommend early registration.
We also strongly recommend that children are registered with
a number of other schools.
We hold admission interviews for the Lower School in the Michaelmas Term at Thomas's, Clapham , Thomas's, Battersea, and Thomas's, Kensington the Lent term at Thomas's, Fulham for entry the following September. At these
interviews we try to select children whom we feel would most
benefit from the environment at Thomas's; that is, children
who will thrive in a busy environment, who will make the most
of a wide range of opportunities and who will be prepared
to "have a go". We see approximately three children
for each place available and priority is given to the siblings
of current pupils.
For entry to the schools in years other than Reception,
assessment days are held on an individual basis as and when
places become available.
We recommend visiting our schools on one of the weekly showrounds
to see the children in action. To arrange a visit please
telephone the school offices.
