 Communication

Thomas's London Day SchoolsWe believe that the most rewarding education for children is achieved through an active partnership between home and school. Great emphasis is placed on the involvement of parents. Through active Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) and regular communication between school and home, we aim to ensure that the needs of the children, the aspirations of their parents and the aims of the school are understood and shared.

PTA

The PTAs have a very active and diverse role in non-academic aspects of school life. Notices from the PTA will be posted on the parents' notice boards. There is also a PTA section in the weekly bulletin.

Bulletin

A bulletin is sent to parents every week. It contains important news and information as well as details of school trips, events, procedures, lunch menus and lost property.

Homework Diary

Each child has a "Homework Diary" which they take home each day. The diary is signed by teacher and parent. As well as important information, dates and events for the term, the diary records homework as well as any messages between teacher and parents.

Concerns or queries

If parents have any individual concerns or queries, members of staff are glad to meet with them.

Parents' meetings

Parents are invited to a Syllabus Evening early in the Michaelmas term. There are also individual meetings held between teachers and parents throughout the year.

Curriculum Guides

Curriculum Guides are given out at Syllabus Evening. These give an outline of the syllabus covered in each subject during the year.

Reports

Written reports are sent home in the Michaelmas and Summer terms, with additional Lent Term reports for Years 7 and 8. Verbal reports are given at the Parents' Evening in the Lent Term.

Behaviour

All staff, children and parents are expected to follow Thomas's Code of Conduct, details of which can be found in the homework diary.

Uniform

Thomas's uniform is supplied by Peter Jones and is available by mail order. Full uniform and kit lists are available from the School Offices. More about Thomas's Uniform requirements >
