School Clubs

Thomas’s children enjoy an unusually rich school day, with a generous allocation of time and specialist staff in the Arts and sports.

However, the school day is not limited to 0830 - 1600.

Before school children can join the Running Club or the Swimming Squad, the Karate or Cricket Club and more.

From 1600 onwards the school and sports fields buzz with children having fun, honing their skills, discovering new passions and exploring their abilities.

In addition to a wide range of Sport, Music, Art and Drama activities, the individual schools offer their own selection of clubs. A small sample of these includes:

Extra Ballet

Extra Ballet is a very popular amongst pupils in Years 1 - 8.  Pupils are prepared for the examinations of The Royal Academy of Dance and also for the school's biennial Ballet Show. The syllabus consists of three dance disciplines:

Ballet - the foundation and the most important part of the syllabus

Free Movement - this has been influenced by other dance styles such as jazz, contemporary and classical Greek dance and incorporates movements from them all.

Character - the theatrical presentation of national dance using original ethnic dance and music which has been freely adapted for the theatre.  The three styles - Hungarian, Russian and Polish - were selected because of their historic importance in the development of the nineteenth century full-length classical ballet.

Ballet is taught to a very high standard at Thomas's Battersea and our pupils always achieve 100% success in their examinations.
